Thank you for your interest in undertaking work experience with Georges River Council.
Our work experience program provides students with an unpaid opportunity to gain on-the-job experience and an insight into Children's Services within our local government environment.
Work experience placements are available throughout the year and are offered based on your details provided within your application. Consideration with placements is made on the area of interest, duration and dates required and whether the work area can provide an effective on-the-job experience.
Due to the high volumes of requests received for placement the number and timing of placements we are not able to accept all placements. We contact you as soon as possible to confirm whether a placement can be accommodated based on you application.
Eligibility for work experience/ placement is normally for students that are currently studying at High School and are currently in Years 10, 11, or 12; TAFE students or University students. Students will be required to provide proof that they are covered by Public Liability Insurance by a recognised school, tertiary institution or referral agency.
Although we will consider requests from any student, preference will be given to students who live or study within our Local Government Area.

Please note, for placement in Children's Services, if you are over the age of 18 your will be required to supply a current Working With Children's Check (volunteer) and Criminal Record Check Clearance, Public Liability Indemnity Insurance and Photo Identification that must be attached in your application.
